Master of Sorcery

Backstory:Asu'ka was raised in a large city located in the Thirteenth by his two parents—one an aether scientist, the other a biologist. Their demanding work left little time to socialize their only son, often leaving him home alone with the "kid-friendly" science kits gifted to him on his Nameday. Though such blatant neglect would eventually take its toll, it also allowed his interest in various sciences to grow exponentially.By the time he was old enough to pursue a field of science himself, both his parents had been forced into retirement. No one could pinpoint the exact reason for their sudden departure, though many assumed it was simply the toll of industry stress. Asu began his scientific journey in astroengineering and magicks, eventually pivoting toward a broader spectrum of disciplines. With enough time and research, his team discovered what they would later dub "Dark Aether"—a force eventually harnessed for both teleportation and summoning magicks. The more Asu'ka worked with Dark Aether, the more feverish his experiments became. While others went home at the end of the day, he frequently stayed overnight at the lab. His obsession with discovery led to increasingly ambitious experiments, many involving direct interaction with the dark summonings his team had managed to conjure. One night, Asu successfully pulled forth a new creature from the Aether—something that would later be known as a "Voidsent."
In the beginning, Asu'ka tried to keep the creature to himself, hoping to compile a complete set of notes before presenting the data to his peers. Despite his good intentions, greed soon crept in. He was fascinated by the creature’s constant hunger for Aether and frequently provided it with what it needed. It was as if consuming Aether might grant one the rumored immortality and powers of a Voidsent.Curiosity quickly got the better of him. He began summoning more of the creatures to observe their behavior. It was all in the name of research—and they had Aether to spare, after all. But it was only a matter of time before the creatures wandered out of Asu’s sight and toward a major power source. Drawn by its abundance, one of them consumed it hungrily—just before it exploded. The lab was lost that night, along with everyone in it. Asu survived only thanks to a conveniently-timed teleportation experiment. As the rift closed behind him, the last thing he heard were the screams of his coworkers. One might expect such an event to haunt his dreams. But Asu only mourned the fact that he couldn’t witness the outcome of his experiment. He awoke in a strange new world, the atmosphere unfamiliar—something he could only assume was this planet’s moon. With nothing but the clothes on his back and a tome full of research, Asu hunkered down and resumed his work, still chasing the dream of creating a perfect lifeform. Something reminiscent of the Voidsents that had once destroyed his home.So consumed by research, Asu failed to notice his own body slowly decaying. A mix of self-inflicted experiments and the harsh conditions of the moon left him a lanky, broken figure, plagued by side effects the moment he tried to push further.
